General comments
ALGEMEEN
Cyclospora kunnen ook bij immuuncompetente personen ziekte veroorzaken en zijn belangrijke verwekkers van diarree bij reizigers. Infectie is zelflimiterend, maar door mogelijk langdurig aanhouden van de klachten is behandeling geïndiceerd.
BEHANDELING
Bij immuungecompromitteerden behandeling minimaal 10 dagen, gevolgd door secundaire profylaxe van cotrimoxazol 3x per week 960 mg.
