General comments
Medicamenteuze behandeling doorgaans niet geindiceerd.
Voorlichting en niet-medicamenteuze behandeling: in de meeste gevallen rijpt het hordeolum vanzelf tot een abcesje. In het infiltratiestadium kan een warm vochtig kompres op het ooglid worden aangebracht.
